A Shared Mission and Goal
The mission of Tribes is to assure the healthy development of every child so that each has the knowledge, skills and resiliency to be successful in a rapidly changing world.
The goal for a Tribes school is to engage all teachers, administrators, students and families in working together as a learning community dedicated to:
- caring and support
- active participation
- positive expectations for all students
Tribes Agreements
Building Collaborative Skills
These four agreements are the keys to successful relationships in the
classroom.
- to establish a positive school atmosphere that communicates a caring,
student-centred environment in which respect for individuals and property
are promoted and maintained consistently;
- to foster open communications among students, parents, and staff. This
is a shared responsibility among all the parties involved;
- to develop responsible students who respect themselves, other people,
traditions, individual differences, cultural diversity and the environment;
- to promote consistent behavioural expectations and consequences;
- to promote a safe learning environment free of intimidation, bullying
and harassment;
- to promote responsible, non-violent behaviour.
